Why Pilates
Pilates fuels my personal passion for movement because it brings together a mental and physical discipline that I grew up molding within myself through dance. I love the movement vocabulary and syllabus Joseph Pilates created that is both highly regimented and constantly creative. Classical Pilates speaks to me the most because of the focus and care the work emphasizes not only between the client and themselves, but also between the instructor and the client. Creating workouts that both serve and challenge my clients daily is what keeps my passion for creating movement alive.
Life’s Work, How do you want to be remembered . . .
I am so passionate about sharing movement with others, whether it be Pilates or dance or even walking. I strive to bring joy, love and support to every student, client and person in my life and receive all those things in return from my teaching experiences. I love getting curious and knowing “why” for everything- people’s life stories, the point of doing an exercise, if something is hard, if something is easy- and then digging in to find the “work” inside of that “why”. One of my personal core values is “continuous improvement” because I truly fear complacency. If I can empower one person-no matter how old- to find a stronger, happier version of themselves, then I’ll do everything I can to share my knowledge with them so they can continue in that journey.
